I don't recall if when I responded to this e-mail I responded to just Duncan
or to the entire list. So I apologize if this is repetitive.
The NCLBA requires that the competitive application process coincide with
the consolidated application. Therefore, since the Consolidated Application
is due on July 1, So also will be the competitive application. We recognize
that everything is coming due then...... and we never would purposefully
make all of these due at the same time if it weren't for the requirements
under NCLB.
The rfp for these competitive funds will be available within two weeks.
Priority will be given to towns (schools) with the highest-poverty rates as
identified in the 2000 Census. Applications will be accepted from districts
filing on behalf of their schools or from individual schools, or consortia
of schools - with at least one school in the consortia being a high-poverty
school. The grants will range from $10,000 to 25,000 based on school size
and will be for one year.
Hope this helps a bit - look toward the listserv for further information as
it becomes available.

Subject: Format for competitive proposals?
Is there a standard suggested format for the competitive Federal funds
proposals? And is there a due date for those proposals -- end of June?
Thanks.
Duncan
