10 goldfinches at my feeder this a.m. Haven't seen them since late fall. Is it the snow, the warmer temps or the sun? Anyway, a treat to see them. If anyone would like to see the Burlington crows gathering at night, they have been gathering in the area of Prospect Parkway/Glenn Road and Shelburne Road everyday between 4:30 and 5:30. Twice I counted over 1000. If you park on the first block of Prospect Parkway from Shelburne Rd. you should see them come in. One night I stayed out to watch them leave. They left gradually in 6 large groups, all heading generally northwest though some groups were closer to the lake than others. Yesterday, 80 gathered on the corner of Prospect Parkway and Shelburne Road at 1:40. That is unusual, I wonder what prompted that. About the same time, I noticed the wind pick up; perhaps the storm was moving in. It felt a bit eerie. Jo Ann Lafayette Burlington [log in to unmask] net
