Good Morning! I came across this topic, and I could not resist. I have been developing a software product called AVID.exe. It based off of Greg Fuller's program. I have been using AutoIT to code it and have been using registry keys and removal programs to automate the uninstall process of ... Avast AntiVirus AVG 7 Free Edition McAfee VirusScan Professional McAfee VirusScan Professional McAfee VirusScan Professional Norton AntiVirus 2000 Norton AntiVirus 2001 Norton SystemWorks 2001 Norton AntiVirus 2002 Professional Norton SystemWorks 2002 Norton AntiVirus 2003 Professional Norton SystemWorks 2003 Norton AntiVirus 2004 Professional Norton SystemWorks 2004 Norton AntiVirus 2005 Norton SystemWorks 2005 Norton Corporate 8 Most of my program works, however I still have to get some versions of Norton to work. AVID will uninstall the above programs and install Norton Corporate 9. Now, like I said it is still in the developing stages, but I hope to get this totally finished in the next two weeks. I will keep you updated and let you know when it's finished. One question though, what are some popular antivirus programs that students tend to use or want to use? Millersville University students tend to lean towards McAfee, Avast, AVG, and Norton. Have a wonderful day. I am in the same boat and I would love to see the results of your search. Unfortunately, I don't have any help to offer you at the moment. Thanks. Hi, all. We are in the process of developing our fall rollout CD and we have been having some trouble removing antivirus software. Our University site licenses SAV 10 Corporate and we would like to require that it is installed on all users' computers. One of the steps of our rollout CD is that it removes antivirus software (McAfee, Norton, etc) and installs the SAV Corporate software. We are having trouble finding a tool that can remove the various versions of Norton AntiVirus, McAfee, etc in any easy manner. AV32 (which is provided by Symantec) works somewhat, but it fails to remove the various versions of the Norton product (such as NAV 2003, 2004, 2005). We have also noticed that there are some smaller antivirus apps such as Panda, AVG, etc, that we are having trouble detecting and removing. Has anyone experienced a similar situation or have any ideas that may help us solve this problem? Thanks a lot!! - Brandon Pamplin Assistant Coordinator, ResNet @ Pitt AIM: brandonlpatwork ___________________________________________________ You are subscribed to the ResNet-L mailing list.
