The purpose of this role will be to develop and implement Safety, Health, and Emergency Response systems for the site by analyzing trends/needs, advising and providing consultation to the line organization to ensure continuos improvement of the site's HSE performance. This will include developing S&H procedures and maintain the SH&E procedures to ensure regulatory, company and life safety requirements are met. Will coordinate and ensure completion of the Industrial Hygiene Sampling Program and support the completion of all regulatory and company required Safety, Health, and Emergency Response training is complete. Also will participate in teams and may lead or facilitate committees or sub-teams and will coordinate outside resources such as consultants in performance of SHE projects, third party insurance administrators, and legal as needed. The right candidate will need a BS Degree in Safety or related field. CSP or CIH Certification preferred. Have knowledge of safety compliance regulations (Federal, State and Local), industrial hygiene (qualitative and quantitative), case management, industrial medical practice (regular and emergency), hazardous materials evaluation/control, workers compensation, emergency response, ergonomics, process safety management and job/task analysis. Exposure to industrial/chemical manufacturing environment preferred. Three to eight years, preferred in the chemical industry. Willing to be “on-call” and work non-standard hours.
