Posted for Margaret and Richard Slosberg: Perhaps the same bird reported June 9th by Bill St.Cyr? "My husband and I plus two friends from Craftsbury VT saw a partial albino redtail near Wolcott, VT between 2:45 and 4:30PM Friday 8/28/09. A large (about 2 ft in height) white hawk with black eyes, yellow legs, mottled black on wings and red tail when it flew! We have never seen such a bird and were surprised to find so many pictures of albino red tails on-line but could not find information on how unusual it might be. We found it off Rte 15 coming out of Hardwick towards Morrisville. Left turn before you get to Bucks furniture store in Wolcott up a road about 2.5 and 2.75 miles we saw him in two locations along the edges of fields. We were on our way to Elmore Roots, an organic nursery ( you can google their site and get a map to their place which may help with directions) and the corner onto Symond Mill Rd from this unknown road off of Rte 15 is where we first saw the bird. We would love to have confirmation!. Our number in VT is 802/586-9917 Thanks, Margaret and Richard Slosberg"
