Colleagues: Someone on SAFETY was writing book reviews for a while, which I appreciated. So here's one from me. This guide is written more from a building science and engineering perspective than most IAQ guides - yet it reads easily - not a technical tome. Sparing text in the monograph with good diagrams and photos. Many references if you want to dig in to a particular topic. The accompanying searchable, hyperlinked CD has about 750 pages of detail, including appendices. Includes emerging topics such as vapor intrusion and displacement ventilation (though more detail would have been nice). Excellent treatment of moisture control and good treatment of VOCs, Legionella, radon, etc. A great resource for anyone with an interest in IAQ. A must, IMO, for those considering USGBC LEED new construction or existing building certification. Published by ASHRAE in cooperation with the American Institute of Architects, The U.S. Green Building Council, the Builders and Owners Management Association International, the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors of North America, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Definitely the best IAQ guide I have seen. If you purchase, watch for Product Key which is needed to view the CD material. *Indoor Air Quality Guide: Best Practices for Design, Construction and Commissioning* http://www.ashrae.org/publications/page/1936 --- This e-mail is from the [log in to unmask] list.
