Corporate Environmental Manager A worldwide manufacturer of float glass and fabricated glass products for the commercial and residential construction industries is currently looking for a Corporate Environmental Manager. We are currently looking for an Environmental Manager to join the Corporate Environmental Department in Michigan. The Corporate Environmental Department is a world leader in developing and implementing environmental auditing, permitting, continuous improvement, and sustainability programs. The Environmental Department integrates oversight and consulting work products with business analysis and contributes to multi-disciplined teams for sustained environmental and business growth. In addition to a strong work ethic and integrity, the ideal candidate must have experience with and be prepared to excel in the following areas of environmental management responsibility: Conducting internal compliance audits Training entry-level personnel on plant-level regulatory compliance activities and corporate environmental procedures Managing and providing best practices to facility-level environmental projects Researching and providing insight and analysis for laws, regulations, guidance, and policy Coordinating pollution control, waste management, recycling, conservation, and renewable energy programs and activities Troubleshooting air and water pollution control systems and emissions monitoring equipment Candidates should have a strong academic record and be eager to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented, non-bureaucratic environment. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications: Detail-oriented, with excellent written and oral communication skills Demonstrated leadership skills Experience building relationships with diverse groups of people at all levels of an organization Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Engineering/Science/Policy 5-10 years of environmental compliance experience in an industrial setting Ability to work independently, with little supervision Demonstrated ability to influence others via strong relationships and analytical skills. Strong computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint Hands-on experience with air pollution control systems (scrubbers, electrostatic precipitators, catalyst beds, etc.) and/or wastewater treatment operations for metal removal Familiarity with environmental certification and improvement programs such as ISO 14001, sustainability, REACH, RoHS, and EPA’s WasteWise. The position involves extensive domestic and potential international travel.
