Hi all,

We're looking for a way to scan books into readable text for use with
text-to-speech programs. We can borrow a nifty scanner from the DOE that
will scan to text, but it's somewhat time consuming process -- one page at
a time. We have photocopiers that will scan and email PDF pages, but the
files are images, not readable text, so I wonder if there's a way to
convert them.

Do any of you have experience with this? Any suggestions?
