At 5:00 this evening the Barnacle Goose was feeding with ~300 Canadas on and around the manure piles in the middle of the cornfield east of Stebbins Rd in Vernon. Welcome to VT! I was able to view the birds easily with my scope set up on the side of Stebbins Rd, very convenient. I did not spot the Greater White-fronted, however a lot of geese were already at the roost around the island in the Connecticut River east of the field. Small groups of geese started heading to the roost about 5:15. The Barnacle flew to the river with 5 Canadas at 5:25. Nice way to end the day... Dave Johnston
