Medical Librarian
In this highly visible position, the successful candidate will play a key
role in the start-up and ongoing needs assessment of a new resource center.
Responsibilities include providing input on equipment, computer hardware
and software needs, as well as setting policies and procedures. The
librarian will also be responsible for collection development, loading
databases, researching and developing new databases, inventory management
and conducting extensive on-line searching of databases for staff, clients,
and customers.
Qualifications include 3 or more years' experience in database management
including cataloging, indexing and retrieval of information. A Master's
degree in Library Science or equivalent experience in health services is
preferred, as well as good understanding of the insurance industry and
disability products. A high level of initiative and creativity, plus strong
analytical and communication skills are essential.
