According to Harry Pavulaan determinations of VBS material, probably yes.
The first Eastern is May 27 in SW VT.

Observed ~10 Tiger Swallowtails today in Brandon and Sudbury. I attempted to net one for identification but was unsuccessful!

Can we assume at this date that they are all Canadians?

the southernmost parking area at the Brilyea access of Dead Creek Wildlife
Management area in Addison this afternoon.

Yesterday at Black Mountain TNC Preserve in Dummerston I had:

Black Swallowtail - 1
Eastern Pine Elfin - abundant
Brown Elfin - 3
Mourning Cloak - 1
Juvenal's Duskywing - 1
Northern Azure (C. lucia) - 2
Canadian Tiger Swallowtail - 2

Lots of year firsts yesterday. Black Swallowtail, Canadian Swallowtail, Common Ringlet, Clouded Sulphur, Pearl Crescent. Some photos are on Flickr. Includes Azures. 1 lucia and one other I am calling Cherry Gall. It was much smaller and darker. I am pretty sure I don't have it right

I think that the hind wing shape difference
of West Virginia Whites and Mustard Whites
is much easier to use for identification
than the forewing shape as suggested elsewhere.

Various illustrations, and especially the one of each
species I netted during the atlas in Grand Isle,
show the difference in hind wing shape. [...]

Wow, that is super to know of a new colony in this location! I am not sure
I can ID them from upperside only. Does anyone know if you really can tell
from Mustard with just upperside? I assume Roy you got a good look at them
though and they were not Mustards. Just making sure as this is a
conservation concern species in Vermont and a new site. Very cool.

I have not checked this site before for butterflies in general but I note Sue and Marv have some other butterfly records along Wild Cat Road.

Unfortunately this was the best I could do with my pocket Canon PowerShot and I have no ventral view. The host plant appears "correct" for the species. [...]

Morning Cloak
First Flight of Meadow Fritillaries, saw 9 in 3 different fields. Many Blue Violets blooming.
I think we had 4 flights of them last year.
