not all the dogs were neutered/spayed. Some were placed in breeding homes.
Not many, granted, but Athena got to select the ones. Plus, before the
arrest, her genepool was liberally shared with two other collie kennels she
often traded dogs with - Van M i think was one and I forget the other.
Individual dogs may have been removed from the genepool but the Valient
collie genes were already well placed in other breeding programs.

Also, even though she spoke loudly and frequently about CEA it was apparent
from the Court records that she talked a better game than she played. There
was a lot of smoke and mirrors involved in Athena's breeding program and
many dogs were not tested or there was no record anywhere of them having
been tested.
