Shannon had her 1st obedience lesson on Saturday & I think she did very
well, she went in lunging at the end of the leash & by the end she was
better, not perfect but better than she was. I think she was the best sitter
in the class & she caught on to down pretty fast too, we both need to work
on her breaking her sit/down, I'm supposed to go no, no, no when she does it
but I haven't gotten the hang of it yet, of course nobody else in the class
did it either. She's the prettiest & I think the oldest dog in class, most
of the other dogs are Labs & most seem to be 18 months or younger, they also
are mostly black, white, yellow & chocolate or a combo of them. There's also
a Westie, a Chihuahua & 2 mini Schnauzers. Next week we'll have to take some
water along for her, on 1 of the rounds she lunged at a water bowl & she
won't take water from your hand, I guess she's too refined for that so next
week she'll have to drink from a small crock that says kitty. We'll also
have to take along some poop bags since I forgot to do that this week.

We've been having her sit & down almost constantly in the house & today I
took her for a walk around the block, at 1st she was lunging & yiping since
I train in a pinch/prong collar & she kept hitting the end of the leash
really hard, after half a block I think she pretty much caught on that she
was supposed to be beside me & not 5 feet in front of me. When I took the
collar off it was a mess because of her hair, the collar was pinching a tuft
or 2 of her neck hair & I had to straighten it out before it would release
her hair. I was wondering if I'd have trouble with that.

I'm looking forward to seeing what we're going to learn this week, I'm
really looking forward to stand since then I can take conformation shots of
her, right now she either wanders around or sits when I want to take pics of
her.
