PetPAC

Dear Jill,

Kern County Supervisors have instructed their staff to draft a mandatory
spay, neuter ordinance for their review. If Kern County approves an
ordinance the City of Bakersfield won’t be far behind.

As opponents of mandatory sterilization laws, we must act immediately to
stop these efforts to strip away the rights of pet owners.

To combat this threat, PetPAC and CFODC are teaming up to create a local
grass roots campaign. An organizing rally will be held between 5 p.m.
this Saturday, March 29th at the Kern County Fairgrounds, following the
Kern Co. Kennel Club Dog Show. If you live in Southern California, or
are attending the show I urge you to attend.

As opponents of mandatory sterilization laws, we must act immediately to
stop these efforts to strip away the rights of pet owners. If we are to
hold on to our way of life, with the pets we love, you need to get
involved. Do not expect someone else to stand in for you.

Right now is the time to contact Kern County Board of Supervisors and
tell them mandatory spay and neuter is a bad idea. We know that
ordinances of this type are unenforceable and will result in more dogs
and cats being killed in shelters.

There are two ways you can help:

Contact the members of the Kern County Board of Supervisors let them
know you oppose a mandatory spay/neuter ordinance.
Attend the rally at 5 p.m. this Saturday, March 29th at the Kern County
Fairgrounds, following the Kern Co. Kennel Club Dog Show. Your presence
is crucial to show the strength of our opposition.

Sincerely,
Bill Hemby
PetPAC Chairman
