Hello all,
 
The Out of the Box program in L/L has formed an intramural ice hockey 
team that we would like to open up to all students.  The idea is that we 
will have a team composed of trans/queer/ally students in order to 
create an open and diverse athletic environment that is supportive of 
all queer and gender identities.  No hockey experience required, just a 
queer friendly attitude!
 
In order to play you need the minimum equipment of hockey skates, an ice 
hockey helmet with full face mask, a stick, and gloves.  All of these 
can be purchased used at local sports stores (like Play it Again Sports 
across from the university mall).  Absolutely no experience is required 
(we have many new players!) and we can meet before we first play to 
explain the rules if you would like.
 
We will have three games (one a week) on Thursday nights from 8:15pm to 
9pm starting on February 1st.  Please email me at [log in to unmask] 
<mailto:[log in to unmask]> if you are interested or have questions.  I 
need a definite yes by the night of Wednesday the 24th.  Depending on 
the amount of players there will be a small fee of $5 or less ($25 for 
the team).
 
So please come play with us and help us support queer and trans 
visibility on campus!  Don't be shy if you don't know how to play, our 
only goal is to have fun!
