I have been struck by New Rat Fever.

I got a new rat. I didn't mean to! But she *looked* at me and then I found
myself saying "I'd like to hold that rat". My children were in shock! Well,
once she'd crawled up on my neck, cuddled under my chin, bruxed and licked
me endlessly, I was her slave.

She's looking like she might be a silvered lilac or a silvered chocolate. I
won't know until she finished getting her adult coat in. Right now she's a
lovely soft dark grey with silver hairs. She's got white feet and a very
small white diamond shaped chest marking, but the rest is that lovely
grey...

Her name is Silk and I hope Dawn and Misty like being big sisters!

PS Babe the wonder dog is NOT happy about this...
I swore, I *swore* that I wouldn't get a rat like this, that the next one
would come from a good breeder...but...but...aw, geez!
