As a pup Celt (10 months now) spent most of his time with Frog - a now 14
month JRT. About two months ago Celt starting paying a lot of attention to
Bear our GSD/Huskie/Lab alpha male - followed him around, if Bear was lying
near us Celt would come and mirror his position, etc. Big brother - and
sidekick. Bear is a great model.
Yesterday Bear went for the geese. He is trained, or trained us, to use him
if the geese were getting too aggressive. He would charge and flush them but
do no harm. We have not used Bear for this since we have had Frog and Celt
because we did not want him to model something we did not want the pups to
copy yet. But yesterday, Bear did it on his own which is not allowed. Celt
immediately hit Bear from the side thus breaking off the charge.
(Today they both went after the geese and I told them no so we will see how
that goes.)
Anyway, today the three dogs were playing and Bear put Celt down. Rougher
than usual because Celt was resisting and not showing proper subservience.
Celt jumped up and attacked Bear, sort of playful but saying I am not going
to take that anymore. We will see what happens next.
