Hi Tish,
I just joined the list, and am the proud "parent" of an aussie, a
malinois, and a 3 yr old farm collie, "Ginger".
I read the email about the maltese petition here in TN. The petition was
real, however, the matter has already been resolved. The foster families
were allowed to keep their foster malteses. It is my understanding that an
anonymous benefactor made a rather substantial donation to the county to
pay for the foster families to keep the maltese they had been caring for,
which was accepted, and the auction has been halted.
Unfortunately, Saliski's minor children are being allowed to keep their
personal dogs (also unaltered maltese). While she was banned from owning
anymore dogs in her lifetime, I won't take a bet on whether Saliski will
probably breed and sell under her children's names. That was one of the
things that helped get her convicted in the first place, along with only 10
counts of animal cruelty, of 230 maltese that were seized.
