Sounds like a wonderful collie, we have tested our male (Laddie) for the
basics, not the MDR-1 though. He is a sable/white rough collie and has the
same "farm collie" head traits you described. He does not have any titles as
of yet, we acquired him at the age of 3 from an acquaintance that basically
fed him so he was a bit of a rescue however he is a very sweet boy/healthy
and intact. He does 4-H with my daughter, AKC showmanship and confirmation
, just for fun. In showmanship they do relatively well considering the age
my daughter started training him. We are in the city so no farm to see, farm
collie traits, on. If we put a little effort into it he could probably be a
therapy dog, his coat is not the typical rough coat the dirt sort of rolls
off him, brushes right out. He is out of the old Twin Creeks line. The show
breeders call him a FarmCollie. We are in Illinois. Gina Bisco paid for the
pre-breeding testing for Laddie as she is/was interested in breeding him to
one of her female collies. She also suggested I contact you to see if you
knew of othere working towards bringing back the older looking collie.
