if anyone has not corrected this yet it is COLLIE eye anomaly, not
canine. it does in fact happen in Border Collies (since that was
asked). puppies may be checked as early as 7 weeks of age, they either
have it or they don't, it isn't like PRA (progressive retinal atrophy)
which can be late onset and not show up for years (this is why breeding
animals need to be checked every year, not just once like for CEA). it
happens in collies more often than BC (to my knowledge) and is surprisingly
easy to breed out but many don't seem to try because not many are blind.
