Even when we did have him in a Cocker clip he didn't get very long & just a
quick brush though every now & then kept him looking fine, he did get
unpleasantly fuzzy when he grew out a bit, you knew it was grooming time
when you stroked him & said yuck. He wasn't dirty he just had that nasty
slick fluffy stuff they get. I think he's the only dog we ever had that got
that. I can't remember if the Setter ever got that way or not, her belly
hair never recovered from her spay surgery though, it was long & pretty
before then & it never got that way again even when we let her grow out in
the winter.
