LOL, that's great, because the worst dog I ever had was the same mix.
Needless to say, her Irish Setter blood was very modern and most likely out
of puppy mill lines since her mother was bought in a pet store. That was my
first hard lesson in backyard breeders (the lousy ones, not the responsible
ones ;). Your dog, Brandy, sounds like she was marvelous. Sometimes oops
litters can produce some wonderful dogs.

I've heard the only ones like that anymore are the red and white Irish
Setters (?). It'd sure be a shame if Irish Setters had been bred into
genetic obscurity like the American Cocker Spaniel.
