My "Lady" farmcollie that I rescued last August is really taking a turn for
the worst regarding her health. She is probably 11 or 12. She was supposed
to be 11 when I rescued her. She has always had a very difficult time
defacating and urinating. It takes her forever!!!
But since she has had a time with us to settle down and be cared for, it
seems that her nervous system is really relaxing, and along with the
relaxing, her back end seems to be getting worse.
We are taking her to the vet tomorrow for tests and overview.
What it appears like now is that she has some kind of hip dysplasia, or
something....she cannot get into the car anymore, and really does not want
to move the back legs very much.
Does anyone have any knowledge on this?
She will sit on the couch and whimper. I do not like that!
We are giving her an aspirin two times a day. Will that help?
It is almost like she is beginning to treat her back legs as if they are
very weak, and would prefer to drag them. Although she is not dragging them,
it almost looks as if it is going that way.
Any thoughts? She is part collie, so there may be some collie problem that
she has. What could that be?
She has no tumors or anything visible on the outside to make me think she
has cancer inside her, that is why I am thinking it is her legs, but the
elimination problem is also making me think it could be something else as
well.
Thanks so much!!
