The WORD 6.0 comparison of the breed (Victorian, Collie, Sheltie,
Australian Shepherd, English Shepherd & Border Collie) is complete.
Maybe. It is at least ready for distribution.
All the information was from online sources. Originally I thought
I was going to wordsmith a little and reduce some of the verbiage.
I stopped because wordsmithing could change the original intent
and it was very time consuming. The result is a 19-page, 94,000
byte WORD 6.0 document.
I started this document to help me clarify the differences and
it has solidified some of my thoughts by just doing it.
The document is spreadsheet format. The breeds are across the top
and the characteristics are down the side. For instance, you can
look across the line at the size of the breeds as defined by the
standards, if they exist. In addition, where the standard was
available online from the AKC it was used (just to maintain oranges
to oranges [in Florida we don't compare apples to apples]). In
some cases, the breed club has a different standard from the AKC.
I did not try to get into that comparison.
I must reemphasize Gina's comments about the great job Linda Rorem
did on the Victorian standard.
If you are interested in me emailing this document to you, let me
know. I did not want to distribute it to the list directly because
it could hose up some people's PC if they can't take attachments.
Gina has received the document so it can be sent if you system can
receive it.
