        Tracy and Cap are Gina's purebred rough collies - their pictures
are onthe farm collie page. Cap is a fairly modern looking collie but Tracy
is a throwback and she will hopefully be having puppies in a few days.

        Here on the list we've talked about the different goals for trying
to recover farm collies and the different ways to go about it. One thought
is to stick with a purebred breed (Collie or Sheltie or ES) and breed
outliers who most resemble in looks, temperment, skills the old farm
collies. Another is to try crosses (like the BC/Rough crosses I wrote about
this morning or Laura Lee's Rough/Aussie crosses). Another is to just track
down dogs of a certain type and breed those (as Erika and Mr. McGuffie are
doing).
        Cap and Tracy are doing their part for the purebred approach.
