Hi! I'm new here, and have just been listening in on all the interesting
discussions. I did want to respond, though, to the comments about the
differences in collie temperaments. We have two working collies (traditional
AKC types) who are a mother and daughter. The mother is laid-back, calm,
quiet, and mostly people oriented, although she does work in her own
methodical way. The daughter is energetic, playful, and an enthusiastic
worker (although not pesky about it). The difference in temperament is really
dramatic. I wonder if that really is the way that the old collies were--a
mixture of different types all useful for different purposes.
