I'm certainly no expert on homeopathic remedies and
have not jumped on the homeopathy bandwagon, but as
far as I know garlic is safe in reasonable doses. My
dogs each get what amounts to about a clove each day.
My vet credits the garlic with not only keeping down
the flea and tick population but with keeping my dogs
absolutely worm free without any chemical de-wormers.
All pretty impressive to us since we often travel
with our dogs, take them out hiking, go visit
friends' farms, board other folks' dogs, etc. They
have plenty of opportunity to pick up fleas, ticks or
worms, but since we started on the garlic we've had
no problems. (This applies to my kitty as well, she
just loves a little garlic mixed in with some ground
turkey.)
