To be technical I need one of the medical types from the list to respond but
here is what I remember.......... Quat is Quaternary(sp?) ammonium which
means 4 kinds of ammonia. It is basically a hospital grade germicide. I
have been told that when this is diluted to the proper proportions it is
nontoxic. It usually comes very concentrated and you use 1-2 oz. per gallon
of water. So you can imagine that a gallon of the stuff lasts a long time.
You can't find it in the grocery stores. You can usually find it from
Janitorial supply or hospital supply. I just looked in the local yellow
pages and ordered that way. I have also seen it in some of the pet supply
catalogues.
