It is very very addictive although I've found that I've gotten much more
discerning over the years. I've always collected ol photos of collie dogs
and it was a good year when I added one, just a measly poor quality, faded
and stained one to my collection. Each was a major find and a thrill.
Then eBay!!! and I could have many really nice ones every week
(finances permitting...) And I have bought many, and some are really really
wonderful and I cherish them and am glad to have added them to my
collection. But like a kid in the candy store it can be overwhelming and
somehow not quite as satisfying. Last week I was in an antique store and
found a little BCish statue for $2.50 and it is much more dear than many of
my eBay purchases. I think sometimes, at least for me, the thrill is more
in the hunt...
One thing though, Carole has this way cool statue of a saddle sable
"collie" in a playbow stance and I'm always hunting eBay for that one. I
love that statue. Carole, do you know what make that dog is? I tend to
search eBay now more for specific items rather than general categories...
But it sure took me a while to get to this more calm state...
The urge to collect sure is a powerful one...
