I've used a spray called DermaCool made by Allerderm. I got it at
my Vets years ago when Bess got a hot spot and it worked great. The main
ingredient is hamamelis extract (whatever that is...). I'm sure there are
many more holistic/natural cures, such as tea tree oil or aloe but this is
what I have and it worked quickly and we were both pleased.
I remember when I switched my dogs over to Back-to-Basics dog food
two years ago, Robb blew all of her coat in January as she shed toxins. I
brushed and brushed and brushed and I kept thinking any day she'd be bald
but she stopped short of that and was soon back to being a fluff ball. It's
incredible to think that just switching dog food could have such a quick
and profound effect.
