Hi Amy, My neighbor called and left a message on my machine that day that stated that there were 4 coyotes in my back paddock. He said they were crisscrossing each other and running around. My take on things is that the birds who disappeared totally were carted off and eaten, the dead and dying were "practice" for the youngsters. We have been leaving Lassie out at night and in during the day. The day time hours are covered by Bronson (got to give Lassie a break). Lassie is limping though so I know he's been scrapping with something during the night. He's OK though, no gaping wounds. M. Serena Lanza Sr. Payroll Specialist New Balance Athletic Shoe, Inc. I'm so sorry. Sounds like more than one coyote to me. In one way you feel bad for the wildlife who find themselves uprooted with new developement, but the sympathy sure wanes when your livestock suffer. Hopefully they will move on. That Lassie is some dog. You couldn't have a better guardian for your remaining birds. Amy Good Shepherd Farm [log in to unmask]
