I was in college and had just decided to get a dog. I dragged my BF to a dog show and we browsed the booth of a person selling vintage ads. He was very enamored of GSD because of the protectiveness thing (children in particular), but he found this ad and said "wow, maybe you should get a collie!" And a lot of many collie photos (not all old-fashioned, but still interesting): http://tinyurl.com/y6ynv6 I would love to know the story behind these photos. Are they all from one family? Are the dogs related? I think of my own collection: I have hundreds of photos documenting my collies (my own and rescues) starting about 10 years ago. Only occasionally are there people in the pictures :) One picture shows a dog standing in the snow that looks like it has lower-set ears and a wider head, but most are quite modern looking. Jana
