Any ideas for soothing and healing these spots? >> Karen, are you sure there are no fleas? Even one flea bite can send a dog into frantic itching for several days if they are sensitized. Quickie for itching and chewing, used tea bags, soak in warm water and dab liberally on the spots, amazing results, the tannic acid in the tea cools and soothes. This isn't a cure-all, just help until you can get them something more long term. Also, vinegar poured on the spots will often stop itching and soothes. There has got to be a reason they are both itching, though, you need to check thoroughly. Allergy to something blooming? Sprays or chemicals used recently. Change in detergent used for their bedding, or change in shampoo? Allene
