If any of you are in the Adelphia coverage area remember that they are
chartered to offer a basic rate service to any municipality, library
and school for free. I am curious if any other cable providers have any
covenants on their service? We have a very small network in the Gilbert
Hart Library in Wallingford of 5 computers and a wireless node, it
doesn't get any heavy use. The speed is admirable at about 2.4Mbits and
it has only gone down requiring a modem reset twice in nearly a year. I
would assume it would be a robust and reliable option. I know Nancy
Westlund at Flood Brook School is looking at it now. It could save them
a bundle and may well be faster than the pricey T they have now. I'll
report anything I find out as it progresses.
