...Which job? Each of the three? (MIS, Tech coord-ED, and Tech
Integrationist)  For the  next certification renewal, holders should show
evidence of M.Ed or course work toward same in instructional technology.

.....I agree with this. And I would like to suggest that the MIS folks
should know about the educational side, and prehaps should take a course
or two for the next license(after this endorsement has been given) to give
them a current vision of how what they do impacts the educational process.
To be fair, those holding the ED side of the Tech Coord. ticket should be
familiar with the MIS side where appropriate for the same reasons whether
it be TCIP or hard disk management.

....and does a Network Administrator need Dept. of Ed. certification? I
would think that Cisco or MSCSE , OSX Server Admin,  NT Server
certification  OR experience would be something that a school would be
looking for, but the Network Administrator should understand workgroup
sharing if a server administrator, and if the FirstClass Administrator
should understand the educational advantages of collaboration etc. That's
the educational component.

If a Network Administrator or MIS leader is working in an educational
situation, it only makes sense to have some educational part of State
certification....or not certify those folks at the state level at all.

My concerns are also about grandfathering. As the "Technology Coordinator"
at Windsor, I do such a wide variety of things, that I'd need all the
certifications in additon to my subject area endorsements to keep working
here. I'd like to see that addressed. We also want to be sure that work
for renewal in one area can count "double" where appropriate as many
course offerings overlap these fields.
