This is offered only to those of you with a sense of humor. There is no
malicious intent here, so if you cannot take a joke, hit the delete button

Some What Ifs occurred to me during this whole endorsement discussion. What
if Joan Baez were a VT Tech Coordinator dealing with this issue and what if
she decided to write a protest song about it? Surely it does not stretch
credulity too much to ask, what if she decided to write in the style used by
Jay and the Americans in one of their greatest hits? Okay, so some of you
young whippersnappers have no idea what I'm talking about; still, I offer
this protest song.
Oh, D.O.E., why,
Must I certify?
Each time you probe
My drive wants to die.
Have you seen my WAN?
I can even plan.
But the certificate
Doesn’t want to scan.
Standards, hear my prayer,
Tell me that you care.
Tear up that draft;
Make it vaporware.
Give me gigahertz
And other desserts
But that endorsement
Really, really hurts.
Oh, D.O.E., why? D.O.E., why?
If this works for you, I'll give Bob Dylan a call.
