Folks,

It looks like I will not be able to attend this afternoon's pizza
meeting.  However, knowing how dangerous missing one of these meetings
can be, I've prepared a statement to be read by proxy after any
selection of me to do anything at all:

[Please precede the delivery of these words with at least 30 seconds of
throat-clearing]
"I would like to thank the ladies and gentlemen here assembled for the
confidence and esteem displayed in according me the honor of delegation
to [insert name of odious task you are trying to railroad me into],
however, I must respectfully decline this delegation due to the fact
that I am basically a lazy S.O.B. and prefer to sit back a let others do
the work.  Thank you for your kind understanding."
