Hi All,
I realize that this topic as probably been discussed time and time again
on this list serve, but I am going to bring it up yet again. I am
conducting S.I. analysis on whale skin. The skin has been lipid
extracted and freeze dried. The samples are very small, but very hard
and, so far, the only technique that has proved successful in
homogenizing them is to painstakingly chop them with a scapula. I have
~1500 samples to process and I will lose my sanity if I have to do them
all by hand. I've seen a lot of discussion about the Wig-L-Bug and other
mixer mills and wonder if one my be appropriate for my application. As I
said, these are skin samples and are very hard and contain connective
tissue. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated!
Thank you in advance,
Briana
