Hello Everyone,

I've just started to set-up oxygen "pyrolysis" for water samples and
have a few questions about the glassy C tubes/liners that are
inserted into the ceramic tube.

How long does the glassy C tube normally last (i.e, how many samples
can be run before you need a new tube)?  My first tube lasted for
only 100 samples (..over a period of a couple of months) and then I
started to see massive tailing on the CO peak.  Repacking the column
with new chemicals didn't work so I changed the glassy C tube and
that appears to have fixed the tailing problem.  However, at $975
U.S. I cannot afford to change the tube every 100 samples.  Is there
a reason why it might have died so quickly?

Next question.  Does anyone know of a North American supplier of
glassy carbon tubes that fit the EuroVector pyro-OH?
