Dear fellow isochemists,

After being a member of this list for a long time this is the first time I have seen offensive of off-track messages like these. Of course there have been the occational "ups I hit the general reply button" snafus.

I familar with other groups that share common interests in general a very simple rule - no politics, no religion, no sexist remarks, no dirty jokes, no fowl language, no hatemongering of any kind. Offenders are summarily removed from the list by the admins (some of these even include paid membership, .e.g chess internet sites, were offenders get kicked out and don't get reimbursed and may even be banned from the list/site for a good while if not permanently).

I don't recall if Andrea had an agrement in there somewhere that you had to agree to when you join but it is probably simple to add a clause and then specify consequences. If don't don't agree with these "rules of engagement" then your off the list - it should be that simple.

I think its quite remarkable that we have not have any such "incidences" before considering the great number of members on this list and the time its been around.

Sincerely,

Hal Karlsson

Dear members of the Isogeochem forum,
I did contact Michael Leary yesterday after the
"incident" and with his latest postings he has
tried to explain what happened. I trust that he
is well aware of the negative response generated
by his messages. SoS..please let's move on now!!!
Thank you,
Andrea Lini
