I've found that some people are also statickier than others, and that
the shoes they wear make a big difference. Sneakers are generally bad;
I suppose a grounded anti-stat mat on the floor would help. We also use
anti-static finger cots and an anti-static lab coat for tough cases.
Yes, a humidifier in the lab room, and a tiny beaker of water inside the
balance, help a lot if you can accommodate the moisture. Balance
manufacturers recommend shielding the sample being weighed in a metal
container, and we've had some luck with building foil structures that
are tared on the balance.
