All IRMS users,

For any individuals/ groups that are interested, after the success of the
1st and 2nd FIRMS inter-laboratory exercises, there is due to be a 3rd
exercise in the near future. All persons that took part in the previous
exercises have now been contacted and I currently have a list of 17
groups/individuals taking part in this exercise. If anyone would like to
take part in the exercise and are not known to be on my list then please
send your request to [log in to unmask]

The samples have already been received and include some paper samples
courtesy of Mass spec Analytical and some horse hair samples supplied by
Queens University Samples. The samples, along with instructions and a
results reporting sheet will be sent out once a complete list of
participants is acquired and guidelines are confirmed. This exercise hopes
to build on the previous successes of the 1st and 2nd exercises and the
results should be published within the next FIRMS newsletter (in
anticipation that all data has been received and data analysis is
complete).

This is an excellent opportunity for all laboratories measuring C, N,
and/or O, H isotopes, especially those seeking accreditation and the
required validation data.

Please forward on to any persons that you think would be interested and I
hope to hear from you all very soon.

Regards
