Goldschmidt 2007
Dear colleagues,
we would like to draw your attention to Session S55
"Stable Isotopes in Environmental Biogeochemistry"
Conveners:
Bernhard Mayer ([log in to unmask])
Michael E. Böttcher ([log in to unmask])
Keynote:
R.E. Blake (Yale University)
at the 17th Annual V.M. Goldschmidt Conference 2007
(Cologne, Germany, August 19 – 24, 2007)
The investigation of stable isotope partitioning plays an essential role
in advancing our knowledge in Biogeochemistry and Environmental
Geochemistry. Applications may range from scales of cellular processes up to
global element cycles. This session will highlight recent advances in the
use of stable isotope techniques to gain a better understanding of sources
and biogeochemical processes in marine and terrestrial ecosystems,
including the role of microorganisms in cycling of elements. Contributions
describing novel isotopic approaches in Applied Geochemistry and modelling
aspects are also welcome.
All information can be found under http://www.goldschmidt2007.org .
The deadline for the receipt of abstracts is April 19th, 2007.
Please do not hesitate to contact us in case of any questions.
We hope that we can stimulate your interest in the programme and we are
looking forward to receiving your contributions on new stable isotope
results, and meeting you in Cologne.
Bernhard Mayer and Michael E. Böttcher
(University of Calgary and Leibniz Institute for Baltic Sea Research,
Warnemünde)
