It seems the consistency of the quartz wool we'd been using (Costech 021036) has changed. It is much too similar to cotton balls where it used to be coarse. The light, fluffy product we now have simply doesnt stay in place in the quartz columns. The result of this is the chemicals just fall out through the bottom while installing the column or the top plug of quartz wool will occassionally creep upwards in the column such that the samples don't fall to where they should.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a supplier of a coarse quartz wool?
