Hello,
I recently disassembled and cleaned the source in my Isoprime for the
first time. I am now able to get performance that is better than it was
but not as good as at installation.
One thing that looks very odd is the half-plate scans. The peak
intensities of the three beams (44,45,46) do not coincide and
consequently the flat region of the 45/44 ratio trace is also offset
from maximum sensitivity. I also notice that in a peak centre scan the
44 and 46 peaks have a slight slope The 45 peak is too narrow to see if
it also has a slope. On my Prism sloping tops are almost always due to
poor z-plate adjustment, but the z-plate scan is perfect. I've
optimised all other parameters and the values look perfectly
acceptable. You can view a screen shot of the half-plate scan at:

I imagine that the solution involves working on the source but it would
be nice to have an idea of what I should be looking for before I vent
the machine. Also there may be some more tests I should do before I
open it up. Any comments or suggestions are most welcome.
cheers,
David
