Dear Debashish,

We have analysed freeze dried bird's blood samples (from some kind of
warbler) in our lab for a colleague and the weight of these samples was
typical for EA-IRMS, i.e. 0.2-0.4 mg. Unfortunately, I can't tell you to
what this equated in terms of blood volume (never thought of asking).

I'm not sure if my friend and colleague Stuart Bearhop has resubscribed to
the list after his recent move, so here is his new e-mail address:

You should also try to contact Susan Waldron ([log in to unmask])
if she doesn't reply to your e-mail first.

Here's one of their papers where blood samples were analysed for 13C and 15N
(of which I don't have a copy before you ask).

Title: Factors that influence assimilation rates and fractionation of
nitrogen and carbon stable isotopes in avian blood and feathers

	Dear All

I like to analyse stable C and N signatures from bat blood samples.
How much blood we need to analyse stable C and N values? I would appreciate
if you please provide me information (any reference) on methods relating to
this.

	Thanks you in advance

	Kind regards

	Debashish
