Dear all,
we would like to refocus your attention on the Stable Isotope Session
during the EGU 2008 meeting in Vienna:
BG1.4 "Application of Stable Isotopes in Biogeosciences"
Dead line for submitting abstracts is January 14th, 2008!
Under the 'Biogeosciences' programme, and co-listed in the 'Isotopes in
Geosciences' programme
(Convenor: Michael E. Böttcher; Co-Conveners: Nina Buchmann and Steven
Bouillon)
The European Geosciences Union (EGU) General Assembly 2008 will take place
in Vienna, Austria, from April 13th to 18th.
This session is open to all contributions in biogeochemistry and ecology
where stable isotope techniques are used as analytical tools, with a focus
on stable isotopes of light elements (C, H, O, N, S, …). We welcome
studies from both terrestrial and aquatic (including marine) environments
as well as methodological, experimental and modelling studies that
introduce new approaches or techniques (including natural abundance work
and labelling studies).
All information can be found under http://meetings.copernicus.org/egu2008/
The deadline for the receipt of abstracts is January 14th, 2008.
The sessions in previous years had a range of very exciting contributions,
and we hope to receive a similar response for the 2008 meeting. Results
from the sessions at EGU 2005 and 2007 have been and will be published in
Special issues of an international geochemical journal.
Please do not hesitate to contact us in case you have any questions.
We look forward to receiving your contributions and seeing you in Vienna.
Best wishes
Michael E. Böttcher (Leibniz IO Warnemünde), Steven Bouillon (VUB-Brussels
and NIOO-CEME), Nina Buchmann (ETH Zurich)
