HI Stan and Shapna--

IF the hV does come back after resetting it--maybe in a different gas
configuration, you may just have tuned it to an unstable box/trap
setting. Changing the tuning parameters and/or cleaning the source can
help. However, if it won't come back up, or come on then trip off, you
may have a more serious issue--which you may have. We had the bus
controller go on our 253, so it wasn't sending the right set signal to
the hV. It could also be other communication related issues. We
swapped PC's with another mass spec to rule that out in our case, but a
corrupted Isodat or bad PC board may cause problems. The Thermo reps
can talk you through the test point values

take care

gerry
