Hello Everyone,

Lately, we ran into some problems with our Thermo GC-C-IRMS (we use Thermo Trace GC). After only two or three batches of analysis (40 injections each batch) we begin to see tailings of sample peaks (with high background, higher than expected. In the last few weeks, tailing is getting worse; we can see tailing even after we clean the injector and change the liner with septum. This time after we cleaned the injector, we cannot see any signals from the system except the high background from GC as usual (before cleaning); it seems to us that samples never get into GC or something. We did trim the GC column in case it might have been blocked somehow (it is not the case here). BTW, we scan the Ar and background is low (about 60 at 60 degree and increawe a little when increase oven temperature to 320 degree). I (we) am just a little confused and was wondering if anyone has met such problems and how to solve the problem.

Thanks in advance,

River He
