Junior Mass Spectrometry Technician



Due to rapid growth Iso-trace New Zealand Limited requires a talented
individual to join our team as a junior mass spectrometry technician.

Iso-trace is New Zealand's premier stable isotope laboratory. We are a
specialist facility, providing stable isotope ratio analyses and isotope
solutions for national and international clients in fields as diverse as
Antarctic research, biosecurity, environmental monitoring and forensics.

Iso-trace is a private laboratory facility located in the Centre for
Innovation on the University of Otago campus in Dunedin, New Zealand.



The job



Your duties will include mass spectrometer operation, sample processing and
laboratory housekeeping, as well as data handling and report preparation.

You will assist the lab manager and the chief technician in the operation of
two laboratories equipped with six mass spectrometers and three elemental
analysers.



You



This position is suitable for a person who is intensely interested in
science and who is capable in mechanical work. A proactive approach and good
communication skills are necessary to be a part of our small, focussed team.

A technical background with relevant qualification(s) in science would be
beneficial, but is not essential as comprehensive training will be provided
in all aspects of the laboratory procedures and operation of stable isotope
ratio mass spectrometers.
